Applying for an AMF Certificate

Final step before entering the profession

Once you have completed the Institute’s Professional Training Course and passed the final exam, you’ll need to apply for a representative’s certificate from the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) to use the title of F.Pl. and practise professionally.

If you’ve had your financial planning diploma for more than six years, please consult section 13.2. of the Regulation respecting the issuance and renewal of representatives’ certificates.

To apply for the certificate, you must provide the AMF with the following documents:

  • The completed AMF form
  • A copy of your financial planning diploma from the Institute or a copy of the letter confirming that you passed the Institute exam

Note: Upon receiving your certificate, you must inform us by contacting the professional development department so we can calculate the number of professional development units (PDUs) you’ll need to complete for the current training cycle.
