There are numerous combinations of academic training, professional qualifications, and work experience that qualify individuals for enrolment in the Institute’s Professional Training Course, which culminates in a final exam leading to the diploma in financial planning.
One option is to complete any of the following Institute-approved university programs in personal financial planning.

*Each additional certificate must be a university-level certificate awarded by a legally authorized institution in Canada or a diploma equivalent to or higher than a certificate, obtained in Canada and comprising a minimum of 10 university-level courses (450 hours), or an equivalent recognized by the Quebec ministry responsible for the comparative evaluation of studies completed abroad, in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Administration
- Economics
- Law
- Actuarial science
- Any other related discipline recognized by the Institute
