Chair's Message

Looking ahead, advancing together

Our profession has always operated in a constantly evolving environment, but in these last few years, the pace of economic, technological and demographic change has accelerated. And our Institute, faithful to its mission, has responded with an approach that is audacious, agile and open.

Recent months have brought us to an important moment in our organizational life: a change in general management. I want to thank Chantal Lamoureux for her years of extraordinary contributions to the blossoming of our Institute and our profession. Today, the interim general management is in competent hands, and our Board of Directors is at the ready to ensure a sound and harmonious transition to the future.

We recently mapped out this future together. After several months of reflection, consultation and collaborative work, the Board adopted the 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, which lays out an ambitious path for the next three years, with four main orientations:

  • Boost awareness and recognition of the profession
  • Elevate the quality of professional practice
  • Deliver a distinctive and positive client experience
  • Maximize efficiency through skills and technology

The plan isn’t just a document: it is our roadmap for uniting our strengths, innovating and asserting our leadership role. It calls on every one of us to look ahead, embody our ambitions and advance together. It reflects our intention to take action on the most important issues, to seize opportunities and to stay in the vanguard of our field.

Of all these issues, one is central: to guide the generational transition that has begun in our profession. Succession is not just a matter of numbers: it is the assurance that, in the years ahead, Quebecers will have access to competent, committed financial planners. It is also an opportunity to inspire a whole new generation to pursue a career that has a concrete impact on people’s financial and personal wellbeing.

To achieve our ambitions, we have to invest in our knowledge, our interpersonal skills and our tools. The core components of this process are the continuous development of competencies, the intelligent integration of technologies and the constant improvement of the experience offered to our clients. These actions are the foundations underlying the credibility of our profession and the trust we inspire.

We will have the opportunity to explore this route toward the future together at our annual congress, which will take place from November 12 to 14 at Château Frontenac. This is the first time we’ve held this event in November, and it promises to be a highlight of the year. On the program: brand-new workshops, stimulating discussions, memorable encounters and the presentation of awards celebrating the excellence and engagement of our community. We will also unveil our new strategic plan and share our vision.

If you haven’t registered yet, now’s the time! Every year, the congress provides a boost of energy and inspiration, but this year will be extra-special, starting off on a new footing, buoyed by our collective desire to grow our profession and to rise, together, to the challenges that await us.

As Chair of the Board of Directors, I believe that we have everything we need to succeed: competency, passion and solidarity. Let’s keep investing in our development, sharing our knowledge, inspiring future generations and building an environment where financial planning shines in Québec and beyond.

The story of our profession is being written day by day. Thank you for contributing your engagement and expertise to make it a story of success, pride and progress.
